When do we praise God?

Do we only praise God when everything in our life is doing well and fine? That we are in perfect health, we have no worries, no burden, livin' la vida loca and we are not in want and are found wanting? Do we only praise God when we have achieve something in life that we really want, obtain all the treasures of this world be it a nice home, a nice car, and a nice saving for your retirement? Nay, we give thanks unto the Lord in all circumstances, be it in sufferings, trials and tribulations. Seek not the treasures of this world, seek God while you live in this life. Know that the Lord knows you need all these (food, clothing, shelter) and He will grant the desires of your heart. But everything is vanity, a chasing after the wind, lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven instead and pursue righteousness. When you choose to let go of the worldly things, and take up the cross to follow Christ daily, He will provide for you as He told us not to worry and trust completely in Him. Though the world looks unto wealth and your job as security, we know we have a God who is our security. we trust not in them but on God and God alone. In Singapore, its hard not to chase after the "dream" when everyone around you is doing it. Many seek ways of getting rich quick, to obtain worldly wealth instead of Godly truths and wisdom. They put God aside and are distracted by the ways of the world, being so drawn into it that they forget their priority. who has allowed them to prosper in the first place, who is the one who is in control? They learnt the ways of the world and are accustomed to its ways, yoking with unbelievers and indulging in what the world gives. For where your treasure is, your heart is also.
