If you have problems in your life, does it mean that God is not good anymore?

David had many troubles in life, but his heart remained steadfast to the Lord.
"Holiness, not happiness, is the chief end of man."

- Oswald Chambers

God is all I want

There is nothing I want on this earth except You.

Can I really truly say this from the bottom of my heart? Can I be like the psalmist who says:

What else do I have in heaven but you? Since I have you, what else could I want on earth?
In heaven I have only you, and on this earth you are all I want.
Psalm 73:25

If there is anything in this world that is more than You, it has become an idol in my heart.

Pride, Vanity, Greed, Avarice, Lust
achievements, career, material possessions (house, car, money), success in this world

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
Hebrews 13:5

Keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, unto life everlasting.
Jude 1:21

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
1 Corinthians 10:13-14

Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God's place in your hearts.
1 John 5:21

Contentment in Godliness
6Of course, godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into the world, andb neither can we carry anything out of it. 8But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with these.

9Those who want to be rich, however, fall into temptation and become ensnared by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. 10For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. By craving it, some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

Fight the Good Fight
11But you, O man of God, flee from these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. 12Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made the good confession before many witnesses.

13I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who made the good confession in His testimony before Pontius Pilate: 14Keep this commandment without stain or reproach until the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15which God will bring about in His own time—He who is blessed and the only Sovereign One, the King of kings and Lord of lords. 16He alone is immortal and dwells in unapproachable light. No one has ever seen Him, nor can anyone see Him. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.

A Charge to the Rich

17Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be conceited and not to put their hope in the uncertainty of wealth, but in God, who richly provides all things for us to enjoy. 18Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, and to be generous and ready to share, 19treasuring up for themselves a firm foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.

Let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.
James 1:4

You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For,

“In just a little while,
he who is coming will come
and will not delay.”

And,

“But my righteous one will live by faith.
And I take no pleasure
in the one who shrinks back.”

But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.

Heb 10:35-39
Let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.

Rise and find strength in the Lord

No matter how often honest people fall, they always get up again; but disaster destroys the wicked. Proverbs 24:16

The LORD said: People of Jerusalem, when you stumble and fall, you get back up, and if you take a wrong road, you turn around and go back.
Jeremiah 8:4

Yes O Lord

Remember that I have commanded you to be determined and confident! Do not be afraid or discouraged, for I, the LORD your God, am with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9

the lesser i am, the bigger You are.

He must become greater; I must become less.

Is success (as viewed by the world) really that important?

I consider everything else worthless because I'm much better off knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. It's because of him that I think of everything as worthless. I threw it all away in order to gain Christ. Philippians 3:8
I have to suffer, in order to know that you are good.

There's always God's truth for everything you encounter in life.

Ecclesiastes 6:9
Better is the sight of the eyes [the enjoyment of what is available to one] than the cravings of wandering desire. This is also vanity (emptiness, falsity, and futility) and a striving after the wind and a feeding on it!

It’s better to enjoy what’s at hand than to have an insatiable appetite. This too is pointless, just wind chasing.

We also exult in our sufferings, knowing as we do, that suffering produces fortitude; fortitude, ripeness of character; and ripeness of character, hope; and that this hope never disappoints, because God's love for us floods our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Romans 5:3-5

Be glad about this, even though it may now be necessary for you to be sad for a while because of the many kinds of trials you suffer. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold--though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
1 Peter 1:6-7

Silver and gold are tested by flames of fire; our thoughts are tested by the LORD.
Proverbs 17:3

For you, God, tested us, to purify us like fine silver.
Psalm 66:10

The sufferings that you are enduring are for your discipline. God is dealing with you as sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline?
Hebrews 12:7

And whenever the clay would not take the shape he wanted, he would change his mind and form it into some other shape.
Jeremiah 18:4

For God had something better in mind for us, so that they would not reach perfection without us. Hebrews 11:40

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Psalm 34:18

Stand Strong

Stand Strong!

Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

An official of a mission board, who knew it takes more than just desire to make a missionary, was appointed to examine a candidate for the mission field. He told the young man to be at his house at six o'clock in the morning. The young man complied and arrived a six o'clock sharp. The examiner kept him sitting alone in the room until ten. Then he finally came in and said abruptly, " Young man, can you write your name? A little taken aback by the simplicity of his question, the man paused. Before he could get a word out, the examiner blurted, "What, you don't know what it is?" The mission board official put him through a series of questions of that nature and then went to report to the mission board.

"Okay," he said, "he will do." I tried his patience for hours and hours and he did not break down; Then I insulted him and he did not lose his temper. This candidate answered with patience, fortitude, and gentleness. His faith was vindicated by the very quality of his character. He will make a good missionary."

Whether we realize it or not -- we all are in the mission field. Our patience is bound to be tested in ways we've never imagined and we'll most likely find it unfair and unkind at times. But standing strong in the Lord in the face of offensive treatment and enduring seasons of long-suffering is a testimony in and of itself -- and that will win souls!

Are you weary from the walk? Get your second wind! Count it all joy! You have endured much and you will see victory! Not only here on earth but when we meet the Lord!

Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested. Hebrews 2:18

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. John 16:33

Remain alert. Keep standing firm in your faith. Keep on being courageous and strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13

Worrying, fretting, and using your own strength is tiring and vexing. But to entrust it to the Lord, surrendering all to Him and trusting Him completely, there is peace, security and a sure foundation.

He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge. The fear of the LORD will be your treasure. Isaiah 33:6

But after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who calls you to share his eternal glory in union with Christ, will himself perfect you and give you firmness, strength, and a sure foundation. 1 Peter 5:10

Its not about me, its all about You.Your work,Your people.

God is with us

For You are with us.

For Christ Jesus, who died, and more than that was raised to life, is at the right hand of God—and He is interceding for us. Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?
Romans 8:34-35

I may walk through valleys as dark as death, but I won't be afraid. You are with me, and your shepherd's rod makes me feel safe.
Psalm 23:4

If God is for us, who can be against us?
Romans 8:31

The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Psalm 46:7

Your God, the LORD himself, will be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you.
Deuteronomy 31:6

Behold, I am with you, and will keep you, wherever you go, and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you, until I have done that which I have spoken of to you.
Genesis 28:15

Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
Isaiah 41:10

Then spake Haggai the LORD'S messenger in the LORD'S message unto the people, saying,
I am with you, saith the LORD.
Haggai 1:13

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the result is the ability to endure. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
James 1:2-4
